The image of wanton water conservation, A Sprinkler Head?

Just an observation. As I peruse the internet for stories of water conservation I find it amazing that many of the images that are used are stock photos of sprinkler heads. Is it because we consider that watering plants via sprinklers is wasteful? I think that a well functioning sprinkler system can be highly effective and not wasteful.

The reality is that most water-wasting efforts come in many other forms. Just flushing a toilet, running the water for a shower or a shave uses quite a bit of water that just goes down the drain. Really doesn't water anything and lets not forget the process of photosynthesis. We need that thing called Oxygen.

During Stage 1 of the city's conservation program, residents are asked to voluntarily cut back on irrigation and vehicle washing, and for restaurants to serve water only when requested. Customers also are asked to voluntarily stop using water to wash sidewalks, driveways and other paved areas.

We applaud the city of Imperial Beach and look forward to more examples by municipalities as this drought continues.

San Diego,CA- There has been article after article being posted about the drought and water conservation. We have been lucky enough to be bit recently with some rain but this article asks the question..

 “If it's spotty, it doesn't help us much.”

This definitely helped but in general water conservation still needs to be addressed.

This article addresses the many businesses that are about to move towards water conservation and I know that we will continue to see more and more articles of this caliber.

We support all forms of water conservation it just makes sense. It should start with an awareness and then go from there.

Starting to see the press and the blogs cover the upcoming drought.

I don't want to be grim but we are going to see more and more coverage of the drought coming up on the news and blogoshphere. It should be interesting to see happen. We are going to start posting and looking for more water conservation tips and products focusing a bit more on the positive.

Ventura County prepping for drought, we're still not seeing enough of this yet.

The threat of the drought that is on the way water managers across the country are beginning to prep. We will see more and more articles on this in upcoming months as it becomes more and more important.
